Rachel Anne McAdams est une actrice canadienne née le 17 novembre 1978 à London, Ontario (Canada). Après une formation théâtrale de quatre ans à l'Université York, dont elle sort diplômée en 2001, Rachel McAdams débute sa carrière à la télévision canadienne et dans des productions cinématographiques telles que My Name Is Tanino, La Voie du destin (pour lequel elle a reçevra une nomination au Prix Génie) et Slings and Arrows (où elle remporte un Prix Gemini). Son premier film hollywoodien est la comédie Une nana au poil. Elle connaît la célébrité en 2004 avec des rôles principaux dans la comédie pour adolescentes Lolita malgré moi et le drame romantique N'oublie jamais puis apparaît l'année suivante dans la comédie Serial noceurs, le thriller Red Eye : Sous haute pression et le drame familial Esprit de famille.
