Mathilda May (born Karima Mathilda Haïm; 8 February 1965) is a French film actress.

Early life
May was born in Paris. Her father is playwright Victor Haïm, who is of Greek and Turkish descent.citation needed Her mother is Swedish ballet teacher and choreographer Margareta Haïm.citation needed May won the "Premier Prix du Conservatoire de Danse de Paris" (First Prize of the Paris Dance Conservatory) at age 16. In 1989, she won the Prix Romy Schneider.
Career
Her work is primarily in French for the European market. Non-French films she has appeared in include Lifeforce (1985), Naked Tango (1991), Becoming Colette (1991) and The Tit and the Moon (1994). In the USA, she is probably best known for her role in Lifeforce, in which she is nude for most of her screen time. She also appeared in the 1996 space adventure game Privateer 2: The Darkening and played Isabella in The Jackal, a 1998 action film.
Personal life
May has been divorced twice with Paul Powell and Gérard Darmon, her second husband by whom she has two children. She has been married to her third husband, Philippe Kelly, since 2000.
